It's time to think about where you will live for Fall 26/Spring 27. Whether it's a single residence hall or an apartment, on- or off-campus, we have some updates and information below that will help you make the best decision for you.

As a returning student, you get the opportunity to contract and select your room or apartment before new students. Important renewal dates are below.

Keep in mind that we are in the planning stages for Fall 2026/Spring 2027, so floor designations and Living Learning Communities may change.

Nov. 11, 12, 13 Current Residence Hall Residents Renew your contract and reserve your same residence hall room online with $0 down.
Nov. 13 Wall & Grand Open House Residence hall residents may contract and reserve any available apartment online through Dec. 31 with $0 down.
Nov. 17–Dec. 31 Current Residence Hall Residents Renew your contract and choose from any available residence hall room online through Dec. 31 with $0 down. Please note: some rooms may be unavailable due to changes in floor designations.
Beginning Jan. 1 Current Residence Hall, Wall & Grand, Evergreen Terrace Furnished, and Elizabeth Apartment Residents Renew your contract with a $150 prepayment and choose from any available room or apartment online.

Things to Know Before Renewing Your Contract

  • Rates

    Residence Halls: Rates for residence halls vary. We now offer doubles, singles, and our "super-singles" which were formerly our 3-person rooms.

    Apartments: Rates for apartments vary by area (Wall & Grand Apartments, Evergreen Terrace and Elizabeth Apartments).

  • Dining

    The Saluki Anytime Dining Plan will again be offered. This plan allows access to the dining halls as many times as you like during posted hours of business and is included with the residence halls contract. In addition, we will continue to offer extended late night dining hours.

  • Floor Designations

    Many factors impact room, wing, floor and buildings in on-campus housing, including changes in Living Learning Communities, space allocation for single versus double rooms, and other occupancy management factors. Please review eligibility requirements in the tables below to determine if the designation for your wing, floor or building has changed, requiring you to select a different room.

  • On-Campus Apartment Housing

    We offer undergraduate and graduate housing at Wall & Grand Apartments and Evergreen Terrace. We also offer graduate housing at Elizabeth Apartments.

  • Off-Campus Housing

    If you plan to move off campus first ensure you are not required to live on campus by the SIU Housing Policy.
