Majors
Freshman Interest Groups (FIGS)
FIG and LLC students interact with faculty and staff from the college on a more informal basis, and have the opportunity to live with returning business students. Any College of Business and Analytics student will live in the LLC, and first-year students who want to take their involvement to the next level may elect to also be part of one of the Freshman Interest Groups, or FIGs.
FIG students have additional opportunities available to them. There are two Freshman Interest Groups, and both are nested within the LLC so there’s no need to choose between the LLC and the FIG! If you are selected to be one of the FIG students, you will be part of a group of 30 first-year students who live together and enroll in four of the same classes in the fall semester. The specific FIG classes/sections are exclusively reserved for the FIG students.
Additionally, FIG students have weekly lunch meetings where, together with faculty and staff from the college, they can discuss pertinent issues. These lunch meetings are planned to meet the changing needs of students adapting to their first semester of college, and include discussions, special events, guest speakers, career and professional development opportunities, and more!
FIG Eligibility
Students with a business major and completed University Housing contract may be considered for the Freshman Interest Group (FIG) program. Invitations for consideration to participate in the FIG will be emailed directly to students after the college is notified of the completed housing contract, space permitted. Students must respond and notify the college they would like to be considered for the FIG. Students will be emailed regarding their acceptance into the FIG. We will continue to accept names for consideration until the program is full. FIG students must register for all FIG classes/sections, unless they have a previous college credit for that particular course or AP credit, etc.
