RHA Care Package and Linen Program
Care Packages can be sent throughout the year to your student - birthdays, holidays, final exams or just to show you care! Packages can be ordered through OCM (On Campus Marketing), who then works with the Residence Hall Association to distribute the packages to your student. Information on types of packages and ordering is available online at www.carepackages.com or at 1-800-892-8741.
Students at SIU Carbondale require special size sheets, blankets and comforters to fit the extra long mattresses. Since 1993 the Residence Hall Linens program has offered this specialty bedding to maximize the comfort levels of every student. View more information about the Residence Hall Linens Program
Students within the residence halls and Wall & Grand Apartments have the opportunity to participate in an Area Council. Each residence hall has its own Area Council. Each Area Council is composed of an executive board of students who reside in that area. Area Councils discuss concerns regarding residence halls and issues that impact on-campus residents. Area Councils also plan social programs for residents to get involved and meet other people on campus. The three Area Councils are: BTAC (Brush Towers Area Council), UPAC (University Park Area Council), and TPAC (Thompson Point Area Council). University Hall and Wall & Grand Apartments fall within the University Park Area Council.
Area Council provides many activities for students within the halls, including:
- Educational programs
- Attendance at Saluki athletic events
- Trips to surrounding cities
- Movie nights
Watch for postings in your halls or talk to your RA for more information on Area Councils.
